I have 5 points of view that I’d like to touch on today’s topic.
- - Hippocrates - Food as medicine
- - Nutrition - More Research
- - Access - Ask your body
- - Abraham - How it makes you feel? - Food with LIVE energy
- - My mother - Moderation
Let me begin by quoting Hippocrates -
“Let food bey thy medicine and medicine be thy food."
Hippocrates, the father of western medicine,
made this quote hundreds of years ago!
What does this mean for us today?
I have been trying to find the answers for my body
for years now.
Here in the US, as you well know, weight gain, on average,
has grown continuously in our population each year.
Let’s add to that the rise of people with diseases,
such as diabetes and cancer, etc.
Could all of this be connected to
what people are putting in their bodies?
I was watching the stand up comedian and liberal,
Bill Mahr recently, who had a Harvard doctor as a guest on his show.
He asked him, "why the medical profession wasn’t talking more
about nutrition with their patients?"
Don’t doctors take the Hippocratic Oath when they become doctors?
You know, don't they respect his point of view?
I don’t know what doctors think about the beginning quote
of this article, but I would hope they would desire to
research it more and become experts in it.
I know, I know I’m a dreamer like John Lennon says.
But if people don’t blog and dream about it,
then how will things start to change?
The alternative points of view about food that I’ve studied
are Access Consciousness (accessconsciousness.com)and
Abraham (www.abraham-hicks.com/), to name two.
Similar in their approach and yet different.
Access says to ask your body.
Your body will let you know through simple
muscle testing (Google it ;-))
to let you know what “it” desires.
Access says, your body has its own consciousness.
It certainly lets you know when it does and doesn’t like something!
- Through tummy aches and burping or gas.
- Or through a humming body that comes from
We’ve all been there with both these examples.
Abraham says to follow how you feel with certain foods.
If you’re happy eating certain foods, then that influences
how it reacts in your body.
If you have a strong judgment about a certain food,
then when you eat it, it will have a negative reaction in your body.
Abraham also says to eat food that is energetically alive.
Food that hasn’t been too altered or become lifeless.
Both Abraham and Access are on the same page about
how your judgements about what you eat affect
the well being of your body.
I practice both of their methods.
And last but not least, my mother’s advice.
Eat what you like, but in MODERATION.
I have been trying to find a balance in my body
ever since I started healing my gallbladder from gallstones
with the FOOD that I put in my body.
Guess what? It’s working.
So what else is possible?
What else can each individual learn about
what works for their body?
How can science begin to create the testing
that will help us discover what that is even more?
My point of view is that every body is designed differently.
Get to know what works for your body and
I guarantee you, you will be happier and healthier.
Interesting point of view heh?
